Salem Hill
“Puppet Show”
“Puppet Show” is, to date, Salem Hill’s only official live recording. A double CD comprised of songs spanning the band’s career through 2002, “Puppet Show” shows a side of this enigmatic group only a few select live attendees have seen: the band’s humor. A bulk of the show is from Salem Hill’s appearance at ProgDay 97 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and from their fan appreciation party in June of 2002. Two tracks--“Brave New World” and “Awake”--feature longtime friend of the band, David Ragsdale (currently of Kansas) on violin. The album also contains a new studio track exclusive to the “Puppet Show” release, “Waiting for Wonderfulness.”
“Puppet Show” contains profanity in the song “Someday.” This is an expression of the extreme angst of the protagionist of “The Robbery of Murder” who lost his father in an accident with a drunk driver. The medley of which this song is a part is of this mature theme.
Originally released in a limited edition, the double CD “Puppet Show” is now out of print. Find this prog treasure once again at ThunderSongs.
