Michael Dearing is a musician’s musician. He grew up in the Nashville area and has been playing various instruments since age 12. A graduate of Belmont University’s acclaimed School of Music, he has been on the music scene since the mid 1980’s. In Country he has played with Gretchen Wilson, Ricky Van Shelton, Rockie Lynne and many others. In Blues/R&B he has played with Rufus Thomas, Son Seals, Little Milton, and Stacy Mitchhart. In Rock he has played with Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, Felix Cavaliere and many others. On top of all that he has been a member of the Progressive Rock band Salem Hill for many years, recording several critically acclaimed albums and a live DVD. He is also highly in demand as a session singer and player, performing on numerous projects in many different genres. He has performed on the Grand Ole Opry many times and been in several music videos. On TV he has performed on shows such as the Tonight Show, Good Morning America, the Today Show and the Late Show with David Letterman as well as many different awards shows and an appearance with Gretchen Wilson at Super Bowl XXXIX. He currently juggles gigs with Rockie Lynne and Justin McBride with his busy session schedule and work with Salem Hill.
