Eric Parker
“A Remedy Raised”
Eric Parker began his record label Music for Missions in 2002. “A Remedy Raised” was the first album produced by the label. Though Parker wrote most of the material for the album, “A Remedy Raised” was released as simply “A Music for Missions Project” with no other artist name listed. Parker borrowed on the talents of friends, former bandmates, and new aquaintances Fred Schendel, Steve Babb, and Susie Bogdanowicz of Glass Hammer to record the album. Though Eric only sings a few tracks on the album, “A Remedy Raised” shows the beginnings of the sound he would later develop as a solo artist.
In addition to Eric Parker (guitars, vocals,) Fred Schendel (drums, various guitars, keyboards, backing vocals,) Steve Babb (bass,) and Susie Bogdanowicz (vocals,) the album includes contributions from Jeff Blake (lead, backing vocals,) Nathan Carico (acoustic guitar,) Susan Hawkins (viola, violin,) Tim Starnes (harmonics, acoustic lap steel,) and Matt Twitty (guitar.) Solo excursions during instrumental bridges are brief but well played.
